Beschreibung
Contents 'Bioenergetic Analysis' is published annually by the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (IIBA). Each volume has two editions: English and Portuguese. The founder of this body psychotherapeutic method is Alexander Lowen, M.D. He was a student of Wilhelm Reich. Reich was a predecessor to most body psychotherapeutic methods applied today. 'Bioenergetic Analysis' serves as an international platform. Its purpose is to further elaborate theoretical concepts and to make links to and enhance communication with other schools of therapy, with proponents of academic psychology, medicine and psychosomatics. The journal also publishes reports on empirical research and single case studies. These activities facilitate the processes of evaluating the feasibility of our theoretical concepts and the effectiveness of our applied method, as well as improving our clinical work. Although there exist other periodicals published by national Bioenergetic societies, 'Bioenergetic Analysis. The Clinical Journal of the IIBA' has been published since 1985 and is the oldest journal for Bioenergetic Analysis. The present issue contains three key note lectures from the IIBA conference 2003 at Salvador Bahia, Brazil: B.Lewis on 'The Anatomy of Empathy', H.Resneck-Sannes on 'Bioenergetics: Past, Present and Future', H.Traue on 'Emotional Inhibition and Disease', two original articles: M.Nascimento on 'The Space of Silence' and A.Klopstech on 'Catharsis and Self-Regulation' and finally a note by P.Helfaer: 'A Review of The Autobiography of Alexander Lowen'.
