This will help city authorities and other interested parties to design strategies to properly manage wetlands. The people in the metropolis may be aware of the importance of wetlands to the environment and the society as a whole. Appropriate technologies may be applied on developments on wetlands to control some of the consequences of wet conditions on buildings. It will also help to determine the extent of implementation of policies governing wetland acquisition and development thereby strengthening these policies in the metropolis. Finally, it will help to promote the protection, conservation and development of wetlands, for them to be able to perform their ecological functions effectively.
