'The Vatican as signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child?': The signing of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by the Holy See and its implications under international law and church law are the focus of this work. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties and the optimization of child protection through the Apostolic Constitution PASCITE GREGEM DEI are also analyzed in relation to the issue of abuse. This work is part II of a research project in Rome on the canonical reception of child reception of child protection (Görres Society, Campo Santo Teutonico).

Frank Czerner studied law at the Ruhr University in Bochum and the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and received his doctorate from the Faculty of Law in Tübingen. Since 2014, he has held the professorship for Law in Social Work and for Law in Digital Forensics at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences in Central Saxony; since then, he has also been a member of the advisory board of Waldheim Prison. Main areas of research and teaching: sanctions law, penal system, victim protection, medical law, comparative law in state and canon law; children's rights (UN Convention on the Rights of the Child) and their representation in German federal law and in Roman Catholic canon law.
