The Christiana Albertina was founded in 1966 as the Kiel University magazine and has since been an important instrument for disseminating and documenting the history, developments and achievements of Kiel University both internally and externally. Issue 85 contains thematically wide-ranging articles on the Diamond Chairs of Harry Bertoia, the CAU's sustainability concept, the university's new building projects, the botanical garden, the history of the Chair of Regional History in Kiel, the student revolt at the CAU in the 1960s, the results of research on agricultural and social conditions in early urban societies, the results of research projects of early medieval Cologne book illumination, on the oyster collection in the Zoological Museum and on a Cologne prayer book from the 15th century.
