Beschreibung
The book highlights the issues of Disability and Rehabilitation among the Santhals and Lodhas tribals living in West Bengal. By studying the life histories of people, the author collects insights and ethnographic data on their living conditions, their daily lifestyle and the impact of their disability on their life. Also, a major component of the study is the rehabilitation of the people involved in the study. The author studies the attitude of the family members and the community members about their disabilities and also the social inclusion of the disabled people among the fellow villagers. Even though the implementation of the plans and policies at the grass root level have to be stressed upon by both the Central and the State Government; the NGOs have to be extremely dedicated to aid people living in extremely remote areas.
