The volume consists of articles, which are divided into the three main chapters: Literature, Visual and Performing Arts and Philosophy as well as Anthropology. The authors consider different methods of reception of ancient myths focusing on various cultural phenomena, e.g. literature, fine arts, theatre, cinema and pop culture.

Ma?gorzata Budzowska is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Classical Philology of the University of ?ód? (Poland). She holds a PhD in Classical Philology and a MA in Theatre Studies. Her main research interests include the reception of ancient tragedies in contemporary theatre, modern and postmodern adaptation of ancient dramas as well as the theory of emotions. She is the author of the monograph

Jadwiga Czerwi?ska is an Associate Professor at the University of ?ód? (Poland) and Head of the Chair of Ancient Drama and Theatre at the Catholic University of Lublin (Poland). Besides she is Head of the Laboratory of Reception of Ancient Literature. Her main research interests lie in the tragedies of Euripides and in Greek philosophy.
